It all started with a shelter dog who changed our lives forever. That bond gave us purpose - to create a roastery where exceptional coffee and animal advocacy go hand in hand.

Meet the Roaster: Shelby
Hi, I’m Shelby — roaster, shelter dog advocate, and co-founder of Shelter Dog Coffee. My journey into coffee roasting started with curiosity, a little trial and error, and a lot of reading, watching, and learning. Over the years, I’ve earned seven certifications from the Specialty Coffee Association, but more importantly, I’ve learned that great coffee comes from respecting the process, the farmers, and the craft.
Every small-batch roast is my way of sharing that passion — creating something special for people who love craft coffee and care about where their coffee comes from.
Just like shelter dogs, every coffee bean has a story, and it’s my job to bring out the best in each one. Whether you’re here for the coffee, the dogs, or both — welcome. I hope you’ll join us on this journey, because good coffee and good dogs just make life better.
